The La Provincia Cultural Center is located on the beach the Caribbean city of Cartagena in Colombia. We offer tourists a variety of activities related to the culture of the Colombian countryside. Here you can participate in a traditional vallenato parranda, learn to dance cumbia, prepare typical dishes and drinks, learn about the world-renowned Colombian coffee and practice the art of artisanal fishing with local fishermen.
Centro Cultural La Provincia also collaborates with social organizations, which can make free use of the facilities for the implementation of courses and conferences. We believe that a strong civil society that feels proud and happy to be Colombian are factors that contribute to a prosperous and peaceful Colombia.
In July 2019, the Centro Cultural La Provincia organized the first festival of classic vallenato in Cartagena. Among the musicians who participated was the last of the legendary vallenato composers from the 20th century, Adolfo Pacheco, with his accordion player Ramoncito Vargas.
At the festival, tribute was paid to the first Vallenato King Alejo Durán in commemoration of his 100th birthday and to his brother, also an outstanding composer and Vallenato King, Nafer Durán.
